[examples] Remove broken example with no clear purpose
This example didn't compile, had no actual code changes in the last ~6 years, had no documentation explaining it's purpose, and insufficient code comments to provide a useful example. Removing it in favour of fewer, but clearer, examples, that are easier to keep maintained.
